Reverse description The central field features a large, bold Cross of the Order of Christ (a plain cross potent) occupying the full width of the inner circle, rendered in high relief with double-outlined arms against a plain gold field. The cross is contained within a beaded inner circle. Surrounding this, a circular legend in Latin runs along the outer border of the coin, separated by a plain raised ring, bearing the Constantinian motto in full. The flan is notably irregular in outline, consistent with hand-hammered production of the period.
