Obverse description Central field displays the quartered royal arms of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth surmounted by an ornate royal crown. The shield is divided into four quarters bearing the Polish eagle and Lithuanian Pogon (mounted knight), with the Vasa dynastic arms (sheaf) on an escutcheon at the fess point. The numeral '3' appears at the base of the shield, denoting the denomination.
