Obverse description Central field bearing the quartered royal arms of Sigismund III Vasa, displaying the Polish eagle and Lithuanian Pursuer (Pogon) in the first and fourth quarters, the Swedish arms in the second and third quarters, with a small escutcheon of the Vasa sheaf (Snopek) at the centre. The shield is surmounted by a royal crown with elaborate scrollwork. The denomination numeral '3' appears at the base of the shield within a cartouche. The surrounding Latin legend reads SIGIS 3 D G REX P M D L (Sigismundus III Dei Gratia Rex Poloniae Magnus Dux Lithuaniae), distributed around the coin's periphery.
