Obverse description Crowned and armored half-length effigy of King Sigismund III Vasa facing right, wearing a ruff collar and royal robes, holding a scepter in his right hand and an orb surmounted by a cross in his left. The king is depicted seated on a throne, rendered in a detailed Renaissance style typical of Polish royal portraiture of the early seventeenth century. A continuous Latin legend surrounds the effigy along the outer rim of the coin.

Reverse description The civic arms of Toruń occupy the central field, depicting a fortified gateway with towers surmounted by a displayed eagle with spread wings, serving as a crest above the shield. The mint date appears divided on either side of the shield in the lower field. A continuous Latin legend encircles the composition along the rim, identifying the coin as a new silver coinage of the city of Toruń.
