Obverse description Armored half-length effigy of Władysław IV Vasa facing right, wearing a closed royal crown and elaborate plate armor with a ruff collar, holding a scepter over his right shoulder. The king's bust is rendered in high relief in the Baroque style typical of early 17th-century Polish coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the portrait within a beaded inner border, reading the king's royal titles. The mint mark of Bydgoszcz appears in the lower field.
