| Descrizione del dritto | Central field depicts the crowned Polish eagle displayed, with wings spread and shield on breast, struck in the hammered style typical of the Olkusz mint under Stefan Batory. The eagle is rendered with radiating feathers and a royal crown above the head. A circular Latin legend surrounds the central device, reading STEPHANVS D G REX POL, identifying the issuer as Stephen by the grace of God King of Poland. The legend is separated from the central type by a beaded inner circle. The overall style is characteristic of late 16th-century Polish royal coinage. |
