| Obverse description | Central field dominated by a large quartered heraldic shield surmounted by an open crown adorned with a fleur-de-lis finial. The quarters display the arms of Flanders (a lion rampant) and Bar (bezanty with a bend), reflecting the joint authority of Yolanda of Flanders and Robert, Duke of Bar. The shield is set within a beaded inner circle, with the surrounding field plain. A Gothic legend in Latin characters runs continuously around the outer margin between two beaded borders, naming the co-regents. |
