| Obverse description | Within a beaded inner circle, a displayed eagle with spread wings faces left, rendered in the late Gothic hammered style typical of Alsatian municipal coinage. Below the eagle, the heraldic shield bearing the city arms of Colmar is positioned in the lower field. The surrounding circular legend, separated from the central device by the beaded border, reads in Latin around the full circumference of the coin. |
