Reverse description St. Theobald depicted enthroned in full pontifical vestments, seated frontally on an elaborate throne with decorative Gothic drapery falling to the base. The saint holds attributes of his episcopal office and is shown with a nimbus, rendered in the late Gothic hammered style typical of Alsatian municipal issues. Small Gothic foliage ornaments appear at the lower sides of the design. A circular legend in Gothic uncial letters runs around the periphery within a beaded border.
