Reverse description Central field features the Christogram IHS surmounted by a crown and set within a raised inner circle, itself encircled by a radiant sun or glory motif with undulating rays. Four evangelistic or heraldic beasts occupy the quarters between the rays. The outer legend POST TENEBRAS LVX (After darkness, light), the Calvinist motto of Geneva, runs around the field with the mint-master initials S D, all enclosed within a beaded border. Decorative stops and a small omega symbol (Ω) appear among the lettering.
