Obverse description Crowned and armored bust of King John II Casimir Vasa facing right, depicted with long curling hair and wearing an elaborate lace collar and decorated breastplate with royal insignia. The effigy is rendered in high relief with fine baroque detailing characteristic of mid-17th century Polish medallic art. A Latin legend surrounds the portrait, reading IOAN CAS D G REX POL ET SVE M D L R P, abbreviated titulature identifying the king as ruler of Poland, Sweden, and Grand Duke of Lithuania. The field is broad and slightly convex, with a beaded inner border separating the effigy from the legend.

Reverse description Detailed panoramic view of the city of Toruń (Thorn) as seen from the Vistula River, rendered in fine engraved relief showing the city's skyline with numerous church spires, towers, and fortifications characteristic of the mid-17th century urban landscape. Small vessels are depicted on the river in the foreground, enhancing the topographic realism of the composition. The date 1659 and mint master initials HL appear within the field, divided by the cityscape. A Latin circumscription reads EX AVRO SOLIDO CIVIT THORVNENS FIERI F 16 HL 59, indicating the coin was struck from solid gold by order of the city of Toruń. A beaded inner border frames the entire reverse design.
