| Obverse description | Within a beaded inner circle, a crenellated tower occupies the central field, its battlemented top bisecting the upper portion of the circle. The legend AQVILEGIA, referencing the mint city of Aquileia, is inscribed in Latin characters around the periphery, flanked by cross stops. The design is rendered in the crude, flat style typical of small hammered billon coinage of the early fourteenth-century Patriarchate. |
