| Reverse description | Within a beaded or reeded inner circle, a bold cross dominates the field, its four arms terminating in fleur-de-lis finials, a device emblematic of Malatesta lordly authority. The peripheral legend, reading DO PISAVRI with an initial star and pellet stops, identifies the issuing lords of Pesaro. The cross design and surrounding inscription are executed in the rough, irregular style consistent with hammered billon piccoli of the Italian Quattrocento signorie. |
