Obverse description Central shield bearing the civic arms of Gubbio, composed of diagonal barry stripes, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. Three pellets are positioned at the left, right, and top of the shield in the field. The design is rendered in a crude medieval style typical of small hammered billon coinage. A fragmentary uncial legend surrounds the central device within the outer beaded border.
