Aanvullende informatie

Ferdinand I's early Austrian issues were struck in Vienna under the Pfunder denomination during a period when his brother Charles V had effectively handed him administrative control of the Habsburg hereditary lands — Ferdinand was only nineteen when given that responsibility in 1521. The Pfunder itself was a regional accounting denomination, and these Vienna pieces circulated alongside a chaotic mixture of Hungarian, Bohemian, and Tyrolean silver that made standardized coinage across the Habsburg domains nearly impossible to enforce during this decade.
