Dodatkowe informacje

Ferdinand I acquired the crowns of Bohemia and Hungary in 1526 following the catastrophic Ottoman victory at Mohács, which killed Louis II and left two thrones suddenly vacant. The Hall mint in Tyrol — already well established under Maximilian I — continued striking under Ferdinand as he scrambled to consolidate Habsburg authority over these new and contested territories. Funding that consolidation was not an abstraction; it required actual silver coinage moving through actual hands.

Markl 1637–1639 distinguishes minor die variants across this issue, likely reflecting the mint's output across multiple die pairs during a nearly decade-long run.
