| Obverse description | Armored bust of Ferdinand I facing left, crowned with a royal crown, enclosed within two concentric pearl borders. The Latin legend encircles the effigy in the outer ring between the pearl borders, identifying the ruler as King of the Romans, Hungary, and Bohemia. The bust is rendered in a Renaissance portrait style typical of Habsburg coinage of the early sixteenth century. |
