| Mô tả mặt trước | Central field depicts two standing figures facing one another, separated by a tall architectural element — likely a column or tower — rendered in a stylized Romanesque manner characteristic of 12th-century Austrian bracteate-related coinage. The figures, possibly representing the co-rulers Werinto and Dietrich, are shown in frontal or three-quarter posture with simplified drapery. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with a further beaded outer border running along the coin's irregular flan edge. The relief is bold and somewhat crude, consistent with hammered provincial coinage of the period. The field retains no legible inscription on this face. |

Formbach was a small but strategically positioned county in the Inn quarter of Bavaria, and its comital line held minting rights that were jealously guarded through the early twelfth century. Werinto and Dietrich are identified as co-rulers during this decade, a joint authority arrangement not uncommon in dynastic transitions where succession was contested or a minority was involved. The county's line died out in 1158, after which its territories passed to the Bishopric of Passau — making the entire Formbach coinage a closed series of finite duration.
