Obverse description A lion passant to right, depicted in a robust Romanesque style, occupies the central field within a raised beaded or rope border circle. The lion's tail curls prominently upward over its back, and its body is rendered with stylized musculature typical of 13th-century Swiss-Rhenish bracteate and pfennig coinage. The coin's characteristic four-pinched ('vierzipflig') flan is visible at the edges, a hallmark of this regional type.

Reverse description Blank, as is typical of this bracteate-influenced pfennig type; the reverse shows only the incuse impression of the obverse design resulting from the single-die hammered striking technique.
