Obverse description A rampant lion passant to the left, depicted in high relief in the medieval heraldic style, contained within a beaded inner circle. The lion's mane is rendered with curling detail and its tail arches upward. The flan exhibits the characteristic four-pinched scalloped outline of the 'Vierzipfliger' type. No legend or inscription appears; the field is otherwise plain.
