| Beschrijving keerzijde | Frontal bust of an angel with broad outstretched wings filling the coin's field, the head surmounted by a three-towered castle or fortified gateway rendered schematically above the crown of the head. The composition is enclosed within two concentric circular lines, with a Latin legend reading +FRI[S]ACh occupying the annular space between them, identifying the Friesach mint. The bold, hieratic rendering of the angelic figure is consistent with the Romanesque engraving conventions of Carinthian pfennig coinage of the early 13th century. |
