| Obverse description | Central field depicting a stylized architectural composition featuring two towers flanking a central structure surmounted by a cross, rendered in the schematic Friesacher Pfennig tradition. The design elements are arranged symmetrically, with additional cross motifs flanking the central tower group. The entire composition is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, typical of early 13th-century Austrian hammered coinage. The relief is bold but somewhat crude, consistent with the irregular flan characteristic of hammered bracteate-influenced pfennig production. A partial legend, of which only the fragment [---]ARS survives, appears around the periphery in Latin characters. |
