Obverse description A winged lion passant to the left occupies the central field, depicted with a decorative necklace collar and its tail curled downward between its hind legs. The creature is rendered in the Romanesque heraldic style typical of 13th-century Austrian bracteate-influenced coinage. The design is set within a plain inner circle, with the broad flan characteristic of hammered medieval pfennigs. The bold, low-relief strike gives the lion a robust, stylized quality consistent with regional Carinthian die work of the period.
