| Beschrijving voorzijde | Frontal bust of a crowned king occupying the central field, depicted in a schematic, high-relief medieval style typical of 13th-century Styrian bracteate-influenced pfennigs. The ruler holds a sword in his right hand and raises his left hand in a gesture of authority. To either side of the royal effigy, an eagle faces right, serving as a heraldic flanking device. The legend +IVDICARE is inscribed around the periphery in Latin characters. The overall design is characteristic of the Graz mint under Rudolf I's administration of the Duchy of Styria. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | Uniface issue; the reverse is blank and unstruck, bearing only the natural surface of the hammered silver flan with no design, inscription, or decoration of any kind. The irregular flan shape and characteristic die-sink impressions visible through the metal are consistent with hand-struck pfennigs of the late 13th century. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Rudolph I's acquisition of the Austrian duchies in 1276 — wrested from Ottokar II of Bohemia following the Battle of Marchfeld in 1278 — marks the founding moment of Habsburg dynastic control over the region. These small bracteate-style pfennigs struck at Graz were among the first coinages issued under that new authority in Styria, a duchy Rudolph held directly rather than delegating immediately to his sons, as he did elsewhere.
