| Descrizione del dritto | A dragon in profile facing left occupies the central field, rendered in a bold, stylized medieval manner characteristic of Austrian bracteate-influenced pfennigs. The creature is depicted with outstretched wings, a curled tail, and a prominent open jaw, conveying heraldic ferocity. The flan is irregular and slightly squared at the edges, consistent with hand-hammered production of the late 13th to early 14th century. Rudolf III ruled as Duke of Austria from 1298 until his death in 1307, a short and politically unstable tenure during which the Habsburgs were still consolidating their grip on the duchy following Albert I's controversial seizure of power from the last Přemyslid claimants. These small bracteate-style pfennigs were struck in quantity but survive in poor condition more often than not — the thin fabric and crude dies of Vienna mint production in this period left little margin for preservation.
