| Beschrijving keerzijde | A stag depicted in profile with head turned backwards to the right, shown in a walking or standing posture within the central field. The design is executed in low hammered relief characteristic of medieval Styrian pfennigs of the Ottokar II period, with the animal's antlers rendered in a stylized fashion. Scattered symbols or pellets appear in the field around the figure, visible within a plain border. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Ottokar II of Bohemia acquired Styria in 1251 through a strategic marriage to Margaret of Babenberg, effectively stepping into a power vacuum left by the extinction of the Babenberg dynasty. His subsequent absorption of Austria, Carinthia, and Carniola made him briefly the most powerful ruler in Central Europe — a position that put him on a direct collision course with Rudolf of Habsburg. Ottokar's defeat and death at the Battle on the Marchfeld in 1278 ended Přemyslid dominance in the region and handed the Habsburgs the territorial foundation they would hold for centuries.
Pfennigs of this type were struck across Ottokar's Styrian tenure, and attribution to specific years within the 1251–1276 range remains difficult without die study.
