| Obverse description | Bracteate pfennig struck in thin hammered silver with an irregular flan. The central device depicts a stylized architectural facade or throne structure surmounted by a star or asterisk motif, with a globule at its apex. A large crescent or arc dominates the lower portion of the field, flanking the central structure. Two vertical staff-like elements flank the composition. The overall design is rendered in low relief typical of late 12th-century German episcopal bracteate coinage, with the partial legend [ER]A[CENSIS] visible along the periphery in Latin characters. |
