Meinhard II acquired Carinthia in 1286 through a grant from Rudolf of Habsburg, a direct reward for Meinhard's military and political support during Rudolf's consolidation of power against Ottokar II of Bohemia. The overlapping attribution to Otto III, Henry VI, and the Austrian occupation reflects genuine scholarly uncertainty — the region changed hands repeatedly in this period, and die production at St. Veit was not tied cleanly to any single ruler's administration.
