Reverse description Blank uniface reverse, exhibiting the characteristic flat, unworked surface typical of hammered bracteate-style pfennigs of the Upper Rhenish region. The flan shows natural irregularities consistent with hand-cut silver sheet of the early fourteenth century, with the faint ghost impression of the obverse design visible as a result of the single-die striking technique.
