Obverse description Stylized frontal face depicted within a wavy or lobed circular border, rendered in a bold, primitive medieval style typical of Austrian bracteate-influenced pfennigs. The face is shown with two large round eyes and a small mouth, all in low relief against a plain field. The surrounding wavy border is formed by irregular undulating lines, giving the coin its characteristic irregular round flan.
