| 裏面の説明 | A frontal bust of a bishop with arms raised, supporting two flanking towers above, which are joined by an arched dome or gateway structure surmounted by a ring or orb, evoking an architectural motif likely referencing a cathedral or fortified ecclesiastical building. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle bordered by radial lines, typical of the decorative framing conventions of Austrian regional pfennigs of the early 13th century. |

Eberhard II of Salzburg was among the most politically aggressive prelates of thirteenth-century German-speaking Europe, spending much of his tenure navigating the bitter conflict between Frederick II and the papacy. These bracteate-style pfennigs were struck during a period when Salzburg's archbishops wielded minting rights as an instrument of territorial authority, competing directly with secular lords across the eastern Alpine approaches. The CNA Cg2 type is thinly documented in surviving hoards, which makes precise die-study difficult.
