| Descrizione del dritto | A bold Greek cross occupies the central field, its four arms extending nearly to the inner border. In each of the four quadrants formed by the cross arms, a pellet and a crescent are arranged symmetrically, giving the design a balanced, heraldic character. The cross is rendered in high relief with broad flat arms typical of Romanesque hammered coinage. The surrounding border consists of a beaded or linear ring conforming to the irregular flan. No legend is present; the design is purely symbolic, consistent with the Heiligenkreuz (Holy Cross) type attributed to Archbishop Eberhard I of Salzburg. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | The reverse displays a large cross with broad arms extending to the border, similar in style to the obverse but with variant ornamental fills in the quadrants. Each quadrant contains a crescent-like lunette and a small pellet, with one quadrant showing a small cross pommée or cross symbol. The design is characteristic of the bracteate-influenced Salzburg pfennig tradition of the mid-twelfth century, executed in the Romanesque style. The flan is irregular and slightly concave, as typical of hammered silver coins of this period. No inscription or legend appears on this face. |

Eberhard I served as Archbishop of Salzburg from 1147 until his death in 1164, a tenure marked by his close alliance with Frederick Barbarossa during the early years of Hohenstaufen imperial consolidation. The Heiligenkreuz — Holy Cross — designation links this issue to the Cistercian abbey of Heiligenkreuz in Lower Austria, founded in 1133, with which Eberhard maintained strong ecclesiastical ties. Salzburg's archbishops held coinage rights as princes of the empire, and bracteate-adjacent thin silver issues of this period from the region are notoriously difficult to attribute with precision, making the CNA classification critical to any firm identification.
