| Obverse description | Half-length frontal effigy of the Patriarch vested in ecclesiastical robes and wearing a mitre, holding a crozier in his right hand and a book in his left. A Latin legend appears in the outer field between two concentric circles. The stylized, flat relief is characteristic of early 13th-century Germanic hammered coinage. |
