Reverse description A bold patriarchal cross with splayed arms occupies the central field, with trefoil or floral ornaments filling the angles between the arms of the cross. The cross is surrounded by a raised inner circle or beaded border, with a partial Latin legend distributed around the outer periphery of the coin. The design is struck in high relief characteristic of hammered bracteate-influenced deniers of the Aquileian mint. The flan is irregular and shows typical medieval hammering striations.
