| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field depicts a rampant lion passant within a rectangular shield or frame, rendered in the bold, somewhat stylized relief characteristic of 13th-century Central European hammered coinage. The lion's body faces left with raised forepaws and a clearly articulated head, displaying the heraldic device associated with the Duchy of Merania.
