| Beschrijving keerzijde | A plain cross divides the reverse into four quadrants, each angle containing a five-pointed star with a central pellet, creating a bold and symmetrical heraldic composition. The cross extends to the inner border, with the stars evenly distributed in the quarters. Bernard II ruled Carinthia from 1202 until his death in 1256, and his minting activity at Heiligenkreuz represents one of the few documented coin-producing sites in the duchy during the first half of the thirteenth century. The thin, bracteate-adjacent fabric of these pfennigs meant they circulated roughly and survivors with intact edges are genuinely uncommon. CNA Co9 is a precisely catalogued type within Corpus Nummorum Austriacorum, placing this issue within a well-documented sequence despite the broad date range assigned to it.
