Obverse description A griffin passant facing right occupies the central field, with a small cross depicted behind the wings and between the forepaws. The design is characteristic of the heraldic style of early 13th-century Carinthian coinage. A partial legend in Latin script is arranged along the outer margin, enclosed between two concentric beaded circles. The die-cutting reflects the irregular hammered technique typical of medieval Pfennig coinage of the region.
