| Beschrijving voorzijde | A stylized dragon passant to the left with head turned backward in retrograde posture, rendered in the bold, schematic manner characteristic of Austrian medieval bracteate-influenced pfennig coinage. The creature displays a pronounced dorsal ridge, clawed forelimbs, and a curled tail, occupying the central field. In the upper right portion of the field, the Austrian heraldic shield — charged with a horizontal fess — is depicted in relief, serving as the dynastic emblem of the Habsburg Duke Albrecht II. The design is legend-less, with all iconographic identification conveyed solely through heraldic and zoomorphic imagery. The irregular flan and hammer-struck fabric are consistent with mid-14th-century Austrian mint practice. |
