| Obverse description | Draped bust of Antoine I, Prince of Monaco, facing right, with long flowing wig in the Louis XIV style. The effigy occupies the central field and is rendered in low relief typical of early 18th-century hammered coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the portrait, reading ANT. I. D.G. PRIN. MONOECI., abbreviating his title as Prince of Monaco by the grace of God. The inner border features a beaded or toothed rim. The overall die workmanship reflects the provincial baroque style of the period. |
