| Description de l’avers | Central field dominated by a long Latin cross, its vertical shaft dividing two royal monograms — the letter H flanking a crowned K (or R) — set within a beaded inner circle. The cross arms terminate near the inner circle, and the entire design is enclosed by a circular legend reading HENRICVS REX, separated by decorative stops. The flan is irregular and slightly ragged at the periphery, characteristic of hammered medieval billon coinage. The style is consistent with Anglo-French royal issues of the dual monarchy period under Henry VI. |

The shields are set against a plain field within the inner circle, and surrounded by the circular legend SIT: nOmE': DnI: BENEDICTV — an abbreviation of the Marian-Scriptural phrase 'Sit nomen Domini benedictum.' The flan is irregular and struck on a thin billon planchet typical of hammered petit blanc coinage of the period. |
