| Obverse description | The city gate of Genoa (castello) depicted in facing view within a beaded inner circle, showing a two-towered fortified gateway with a portcullis visible beneath the arch. The architectural rendering is characteristic of Genoese hammered billon coinage of the mid-fifteenth century.
