Beschrijving voorzijde Laureate head of Apollo facing right, rendered in Hellenistic style with flowing wavy locks descending behind the neck. A lyre is depicted in the left field behind the head, serving as a divine attribute identifying the deity. The portraiture is bold and well-modeled, characteristic of Sicilian bronze coinage of the late third century BC. The flan is broad and slightly irregular, with no legend on the obverse.
Schrift voorzijde Greek

Beschrijving keerzijde A chlamys-clad warrior stands facing with head turned to the left, depicted in a martial pose. In his left hand he holds a short sword and a spear, while a round shield rests on the ground to his lower left. The Greek letter Π appears in the right field, likely serving as a control mark or denominational indicator. The ethnic legend MAMEΡTINΩN is inscribed around the field, identifying the issuing community of the Mamertines at Messana in northeastern Sicily.
