Obverse description Facing left effigy of King Stephen, depicted as a crowned and draped bust holding a sceptre in the right hand. The portrait is rendered in the crude, flat style characteristic of late Anarchy-period hammered coinage. A beaded inner circle frames the design, with the surrounding legend largely illegible on most surviving specimens due to the irregular flan and worn dies.
