| 正面铭文 | + SIEFREDVS (Translation: Siefred) |
| 背面描述 | A prominent cross pattée with distinctive splayed, serif-terminated arms occupies the central field, its bold form lending the reverse a stark, architectural quality characteristic of Viking Northumbrian coinage. Small decorative elements, including wedge-shaped serifs or pellet terminals, appear at the ends of each arm of the cross. The surrounding legend reads + R E X, the Latin word for 'King', with the letters spaced widely around the periphery. The flan is irregular and the strike uneven, consistent with hand-hammered production of the late ninth century. The reverse design closely follows the tradition of the Two Emperors type coinage issued at York during this period. |
