| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse displays a two-line inscription arranged across the field in bold, widely spaced Roman capitals, reading the moneyer's name. Four cross pattée symbols are disposed symmetrically around the lettering, occupying the corners of the design, a layout typical of the Two-Line type associated with late ninth- and early tenth-century Canterbury ecclesiastical pennies. Two pellets appear above and below the inscription, adding to the structured, formal arrangement. A beaded outer border frames the entire reverse design. The workmanship reflects the Canterbury mint tradition of the Plegmund period. |
