正面描述 Bareheaded effigy of Count Arnold V in profile facing left, rendered in a bold, somewhat stylised medieval manner characteristic of Low Countries penny coinage. The bust is set within a beaded inner circle, with the circumscribed legend running between the inner and outer borders. The portrait shows schematic facial features with visible drapery at the shoulder, closely following the 'Holland style' typology common to the late 13th-century southern Low Countries.

附加信息

Arnold V ruled Loon during a period when the county was increasingly squeezed between the ambitions of the Prince-Bishop of Liège and the Duke of Brabant — a pressure that would ultimately end with Loon's absorption into Liège shortly after Arnold's death in 1323. The "Holland style" designation reflects direct imitation of the sterlings being struck to the north, a deliberate monetary alignment that smaller lordships adopted to ease cross-border trade acceptance rather than out of any formal monetary agreement.

The county's independent coinage effectively ends with Arnold V. No successor struck in his own name.
