Obverse description Bareheaded effigy of Count Arnold V in profile facing left, rendered in a bold, somewhat stylised medieval manner characteristic of Low Countries penny coinage. The bust is set within a beaded inner circle, with the circumscribed legend running between the inner and outer borders. The portrait shows schematic facial features with visible drapery at the shoulder, closely following the 'Holland style' typology common to the late 13th-century southern Low Countries.
Obverse script Latin (uncial)

Reverse description A long cross pattee extending to the outer beaded border, dividing the field into four quarters, each containing a centrally placed six-petalled rosette. A secondary beaded inner circle intersects the cross arms, creating an annular band in which the circumscribed legend is contained. The overall design follows the 'Holland style' denier type, with the regular placement of the rosettes lending heraldic symmetry to the composition.
