| Obverse description | Facing crowned bust of King Henry I rendered in the angular, stylised manner typical of early twelfth-century Anglo-Norman hammered coinage. The king is depicted wearing a diadem or crown, with drapery visible at the shoulders. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy, naming the sovereign. The fields are irregular and slightly worn, consistent with circulation examples of this type. |
