| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse presents a two-line inscription across the centre of the coin's field, giving the moneyer's name in bold, well-spaced lettering typical of Anglo-Saxon hammered silver pennies. The legend is divided into two lines separated by a central pellet, with trefoil or cross ornaments positioned above, below, and flanking the inscription in the field. Two pellets appear above and below the central dividing point, and small cross pommée or trefoil stops are distributed in each quadrant of the field. The design is entirely epigraphic, consistent with the reverse layout of the Portrait type pennies of Edward the Elder. |
