| Beschrijving keerzijde | A tall central stem rises vertically from the lower field, terminating in a cross or floral finial at the top, forming the primary axis of the design. From this central stem, two symmetrical curved branches extend left and right, curling outward and downward to frame the moneyer's name in two divided elements, one on each side. The moneyer's name BV GA is distributed across the two resulting quadrants formed by the branches, referencing the moneyer Boga. A further pair of smaller curling tendrils decorates the lower portion of the design. The composition exemplifies the Floral or Two-Line type associated with the reign of Edward the Elder, displaying a refined if naïve vegetal aesthetic typical of Anglo-Saxon die-cutting of the period. |
